Chosen Place

For I choose to build upon the place of rejection.

Pushed out.

Discarded.

Thrown out.

Dejected.

Not elected.

For I choose the stone that did not fit.

I am searching through the rubble for the treasure, for that which is precious.

For that which was broken is most important to me.

For without this piece the whole house comes down.

When backed into a corner, the whole house shall come down.

For you are the corner piece.

For you are my corner piece.

Designed to connect.

Designed for the many dimensions.

To connect one dimension to another.

For from the desolate place shall come…

…the chosen place, the elevated place… …the place of the pinnacle, the place of achievement, the place of attainment, the place of advance, the place of expansion, the place of resource, the place of overflow, the place of the great overflow.

The place of the bursting forth, the birthing place, the place of multiplication, the place of reproduction.

For to make something from something is easy.

To make something from nothing is my speciality.

To make something from that which was broken is my desire.

For I love to inhabit the desolate place.

For this is the place where these words echo across the land…

“Too late, too late, it is too late for you!”

But I love to be late.

I love to come after “the end” has been pronounced.

For man places the full stop.

Yet I place the period.

For from the end comes the beginning.

For when all hope is lost, I arrive.

For your Hope is here!

For that which was broken shall become the cornerstone.

The piece of the pinnacle, the highest position from the lowest position.

From the outcast to the prototype, the mould, the model, the benchmark, the example, the forerunner.

For I will draw all things unto myself.

Isaiah 49:18-19 Lift up your eyes round about and see the returning exiles, ready to rebuild Jerusalem; all these gather together and come to you. As I live, says the Lord, you Zion shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament and bind them on you as a bride does. For your waste and desolate places and your land once the scene of destruction surely now in coming years will be too narrow to accommodate the population, and those who once swallowed you up will be far away.

That which was thrown out, shall be that which I choose to lead and connect and gather and join together.

1 Samuel 30:1-8 NOW WHEN David and his men came home to Ziklag on the third day, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid on the South (the Negeb) and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag and burned it with fire, And had taken the women and all who were there, both great and small, captive. They killed no one, but carried them off and went on their way. So David and his men came to the town, and behold, it was burned, and their wives and sons and daughters were taken captive. Then David and the men with him lifted up their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep. David’s two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail, the widow of Nabal the Carmelite. David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God. David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray you, bring me the ephod. And Abiathar brought him the ephod. And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? The Lord answered him, Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.

For I prophesy to the dry bones, the broken bones, the place of defeat, the desolate place, the place of rejection, the hopeless place.

And I say “like a root out of dry ground”

For the desolate place shall bloom.

The uninhabited place shall flourish.

Isaiah 35:1-2 THE WILDERNESS and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus. It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of Mount Carmel and the plain of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God.

For the rejected piece is my chosen piece, is my piece of power, is the most powerful piece.

Matthew 21:42-44 Jesus asked them, Have you never read in the Scriptures: The very Stone which the builders rejected and threw away has become the Cornerstone; this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes? I tell you, for this reason the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this Stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom It falls will be crushed to powder and It will winnow him, scattering him like dust.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
