Blanket Coverage

Bursting forth…

Isaiah 35:1-2 The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God.

Each drop bursting forth.

The multiplied drop. The extended reach. The one covers much. One connecting to another.

The mist, the heavy dew. The big wet. The outdoor shower. Seriously it is like a shower. You step in and I turn on the tap. You walk on that which is dry, but carry that which is wet.

Wherever you walk I am in the mist, I’m in the midst.

Planned expansion. The expansion joint. No the expansion drop. Drops of expansion. The small, the insignificant, the invisible, now visible.

Drenched in it. One moment dryness all around. But then as you walk, you carry my dew, that which is due. The pressure is mounting. I must burst forth all around.

Job 32:17-22 No, I will say my piece. I will speak my mind. For I am full of pent-up words, and the spirit within me urges me on. I am like a cask of wine without a vent, like a new wineskin ready to burst! I must speak to find relief, so let me give my answers. I won’t play favorites or try to flatter anyone. For if I tried flattery, my Creator would soon destroy me.

You feel it don’t you. You are covered in it. But you bring my covering.

One drop in an instant, bursts forth like a torrent. Bam. Feel the impact. The atmosphere. One moment emptiness. The next fullness. The rising up. The tide is rising.

Lift your hand in victory. Stable above the waves. The waves crash around, but like a symphony, I’m conducting the flow. Not overcome, not overwhelmed, just over.

Job 38:8-11 Or who shut up the sea with doors when it broke forth and issued out of the womb?— When I made the clouds the garment of it, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it, And marked for it My appointed boundary and set bars and doors, And said, Thus far shall you come and no farther; and here shall your proud waves be stayed?

You press in and what is it you see? The drop like a seed, sprouts forth like a dandelion. It floats in the wind, it flows like the wind. One connected to another like a blanket.

And then in an instant, struck by the lightning, the lightening, the light. Illuminated by the light. It is electrifying.

My electric blanket. The electric, electrifying, my power bursting forth, my power to cover you, to cover all.

Wet blanket. Ponder it, my goodness, my covering, my downpour, my outpouring, my overflow. The blanket of restoration. How does it feel to be my wet blanket?

The covering of the dry, bringing forth growth. Growth without intervention. It grows before your eyes as you walk.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
