Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Between A Rock And A Hard Place

I am the Rock between you and the hard place.

Put me between you and the hard place.

Ask me to step in, in between. In the place between.

I am the gushing torrent of overflow, of breakthough. I am the place of breaking, I am the breaking wave. The wave that breaks.

2 Samuel 5:17-20 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, they all went up to find [him], but [he] heard of it and went down to the stronghold…. David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to David, Go up, for I will surely deliver [them] into your hand. And David came to Baal-perazim, and he smote them there, and said, The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like the bursting out of great waters. So he called the name of that place Baal-perazim [Lord of breaking through].

I am the crack in the path, I am the splitter but the one that never spilts.

I split the scene, break the scene, make a scene. I MAKE the scene. The scene is of my making. I am the maker.

I put together that which was broken. I was broken for you, my body was broken for you. I am the great restorer, the rebuilder of ruins, the restorer of desolate places. I will not leave you desolate.

The rolling chaff is a sign of my coming, my victory, and the enemy is running scared. This place is desolate and broken so that I may fill it.

Judges 7:9-15. That same night the Lord said to Gideon, Arise, go down against their camp, for I have given it into your hand. But if you fear to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp and you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp…. When Gideon arrived, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down so that the tent lay flat. And his comrade replied, This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel. Into his hand God has given Midian and all the host. When Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped and returned to the camp of Israel and said, Arise, for the Lord has given into your hand the host of Midian.

My overflow flows through the brokenness. When all is broken it is a sign of the coming overflow. The invasion of the enemies camp. The breaking of the walls, the shout of triumph.

Circle the camp, circle the place, like highlighting the word. Put a mark around it, what you circle you will possess. Do not be downcast but jubilent, shout with the voice of triumph. You have circled for 7, it is now time to break the mould, the pattern. To stop and see my breaking. The crumbling walls collapsing before you.

Joshua 6:1-5 NOW JERICHO [a fenced town with high walls] was tightly closed because of the Israelites; no one went out or came in. And the Lord said to Joshua, See, I have given Jericho, its king and mighty men of valor, into your hands. You shall march around the enclosure, all the men of war going around the city once. This you shall do for six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns; and on the seventh day you shall march around the enclosure seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. When they make a long blast with the ram’s horn and you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the enclosure shall fall down in its place and the people shall go up [over it], every man straight before him…. Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, they raised a great shout, and [Jericho’s] wall fell down in its place, so that the [Israelites] went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

Step forward, step in, step over, walk through the rubble, possess the spoils. Hold fast to what I have promised, I’m coming. The vision will not tarry, but you shall see it come to pass before your very eyes.

The hard place of the enemy, the highest walls the thickest walls are nothing to me. Do you think anything can stop my purpose? The rock of the enemy shatters at my word, as my people speak it out, shout it out. What can oppose what I declare!

Place your hand upon the wall and watch it move before you.

Hear and speak this word!

Micah 7:7-11 But as for me, I will look to the Lord and confident in Him I will keep watch; I will wait with hope and expectancy for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O my enemy! When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me. I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteous deliverance. Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me, Where is the Lord your God? My eyes will see my desire upon her; now she will be trodden down as the mire of the streets. In the day that your walls are to be built [a day for building], in that day shall the boundary be far extended and the decree [against her] be far removed.

It is time to extend the boundary, of our thinking, expand beyond the limits, our limited thinking, lift your expectation. For our Hope is in the Lord!

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
