Align the Map

Unroll the scroll…

Unfurl the staff, don’t roll it up and put it away.

Unwrap the gift. The map is the wrapping. The staff is for guidance, support and for standing.

Align the map. Like an atlas it has been drawn.

Joshua 18:3-6 Joshua addressed the People of Israel: “How long are you going to sit around on your hands, putting off taking possession of the land that God, the God of your ancestors, has given you? Pick three men from each tribe so I can commission them. They will survey and map the land, showing the inheritance due each tribe, and report back to me. They will divide it into seven parts. Judah will stay in its territory in the south and the people of Joseph will keep to their place in the north. “You are responsible for preparing a survey map showing seven portions. Then bring it to me so that I can cast lots for you here in the presence of our God.

Overlay my blueprint on the land.

Spread it out, push out the wrinkles. Rest upon it. Kneel upon it.

Align with the green grass, for you shall walk upon this again.

What I draw shall come to pass.

I draw the mountains and they appear. I draw the stream, the river, the oasis, and it is brought forth.

As you spread it out you shall find wrinkles that cannot be flattened. These are my peaks. The place of elevation. The place to rise up. The place where my anointing flows down upon the land. For the peak is the place which attracts my moisture, the rain. This is the point of origin. This is the source.

Isaiah 66:5-14 Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brethren who hate you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, have said, Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy! But it is they who shall be put to shame. [Hark!] An uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, rendering recompense to His enemies! Before [Zion] travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child. Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God. Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her, That you may nurse and be satisfied from her consoling breasts, that you may drink deeply and be delighted with the abundance and brightness of her glory. For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; then you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and trotted [lovingly bounced up and down] on her [God’s maternal] knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. When you see this, your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like green and tender grass. And the [powerful] hand of the Lord shall be revealed and known to be with His servants, but His indignation [shown] to be against His enemies.

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
