Abandon

Abandon….

Reckless Abandon…

Abandon all…

A band on. What is it that you put a band on? For I seek not to put a band aid on, but to restore, but to reverse, but to overflow. Can you put a band aid on a hole in the dam? For the dam is broken, the damnation is broken. That which was damned is broken. All that remains are the pieces!

I declare that which remains, are that which restores.

Gather up the pieces. Gather up and bring wholeness of peace, wholeness of joy, wholeness of abundance.

Abandon lack, receive abundance.

Splashed with wave upon wave, how do you feel?

For my waves of anointing bring refreshment! What is it you receive? I pour out refreshment, but you receive worry, you gasp for breath, you work yourself into a frenzy!

Reckless abandon. Abandon the wreck. Let go of the pieces, receive my peace. Be loosed. Remove the bindings, remove the bands. Abandon the bands. Cling not to the covering. Be exposed. Come out of seclusion, let me see your face, let me hear your voice. For the winter is past and the Spring has come.

Song of Songs 2:11-14 Look around you: Winter is over; the winter rains are over, gone! Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world’s a choir—and singing! Spring warblers are filling the forest with sweet arpeggios. Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed, and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms. Oh, get up, dear friend, my fair and beautiful lover—come to me! Come, my shy and modest dove— leave your seclusion, come out in the open. Let me see your face, let me hear your voice. For your voice is soothing and your face is ravishing.

Cling not to the old. Abandon the old. Speak not of the old. Embrace the new. You enjoy the grand adventure, the exploration of the new technology, the uncharted territory, being off the chart, going boldly where no man has gone before.

Why then hold on to the old? Why screw your face up, why hold on to discontent, why hold on to the loss, the robbery, that which was taken? For I have removed that which caused you pain, I have left that which remains, the fragment of value. I have given you that which is worthy, why do you hold on to the pain.

Isaiah 43:16-19 This is what God says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves, The God who summons horses and chariots and armies— they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles: “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.

Abandon the pain, feel it no more! Hold fast to that which is true. Hold on, hold on to me. Abandon all, follow me.

Let’s go for a stroll, let’s take a walk in the park. Feel the gentle breeze upon you skin, feel the warmth of the sun, be embraced by the Son!

Receive my perspective, my perception. How do I see it? Receive this word “he is with ME”, for I have given you access! I am the key. Is there a door I cannot open?

Have I not promised to supply all your need? Am I not your resource? Ask of me, what will you ask of me, what is it I can do for you? Am I not your supplier? Abandon, forsake, for my sake I will not abandon you!

Romans 8:29-33 God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun. So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen?

Elevated Purpose

I am a man of passion, of purpose, but fundamentally one who holds on to God with every fiber of my being. I learnt some years ago that it is one thing to say that I “trust” God,  or that I “have faith”, but it is a whole other level to obediently put that word, that faith into action.
